the experienced. Ride through magnificent terrain ranging
from long sandy beaches to lush vineyards, from majestic mountains

Horse rides vary from several hours to several
days and accommodation is in rustic huts or in comfortable
lodges. There are quite a number of places to enjoy horse
riding in South Africa.
A horse riding safari in a South African
game reserve is a unique and memorable experience. Animals
such as elephant, giraffe, rhino and antelope can be viewed
close up as the smell of the horses masks the human scent.
Several areas such as the Waterberg in Limpopo offer excellent
game viewing from horse back.
Lake Bhangazi and St Lucia in Kwa Zulu Natal
offer some splendid horseback riding through beautiful and
wild terrain.
The beaches of the Western Cape provide many an opportunity
for gallops through the waters, whilst the scenic splendour
of the mountains will take your breath away.

The mountain kingdom of Lesotho is
extremely popular for pony trekking. Many of the isolated
mountain villages are not accessible by road. This is a great
opportunity to experience the heritage of the friendly Basotho
people, clad in colourful blankets and distinctive hats. The
scenery is truly exquisite, boasting deep valleys tumbling
waterfalls, and magical mountains.
